in Vehicle Depollution

About This Course

The CIWM ELV Technician Level 3 training is a vocational qualification covering the core elements of standard vehicle depollution, conforming to relevant legislation and incorporating industry best practice.
 

The course is delivered in a. blended format, incorporating 15 self guided eLearning Syllabus modules hosted by ELV Training (https://www.elvtraining.com) followed by a one-day Onsite Training Day Workshop and Assessment at the candidates workplace provided by Salvage Wire Ltd. The course typically takes 6 weeks to complete however, training time can be tailored to meet shorter lead times as well as increased when additional learning needs are identified


Candidates MUST complete and pass the online eLearning Syllabus training before they can attend and participate in the Onsite Training Day Workshop and Assessment.


The ELV Depollution and recycling eLearning syllabus makes up the elvTech Certification. This programme has been designed specifically to meet the National Occupational Standards framework for Vehicle Dismantling. Candidates are enrolled on the programme for 6 weeks prior to the scheduled Onsite Training Day Workshop. This is to ensure candidates have achieved the necessary theory and knowledge prior to advancing to the practical session.


The Onsite Training Day Workshop is a one day skills-based practical session that concludes with a final assessment. These sessions can only be delivered at an Authorised treatment Facility (ATF). This is typically the treatment facility where the candidates are or will be employed.


The Tutor / Assessor will give a step-by-step demonstration of practical depollution skills with thorough and explicit instructions at each stage. Candidates will take turns to complete the steps and checking their teammates work. Candidates must complete the steps independently as demonstrated by the tutor/assessor. this is in preparation for the final assessment.


The workshop concludes with each candidate providing an independent depollution demonstration in front of there tutor/assessor. Points are awarded based on the candidates ability to correctly demonstrate the specified depollution and dismantling criteria.

Objectives of the Course include..

  • The process of preparing ELVs for Depollution

  • Potential risks and hazards and how to deal with them

  • Process for Depolluting ELVs in accordance with their risk assessments and procedures and all relevant legislation

  • Safe storage requirements for removed materials and parts

  • Demonstrate the Depollution of an ELV, including the handling of all materials and components removed and how to best deal with unforeseen incidents.

Entry Requirements
Fluent in English. Written and Spoken. (Other language training can be provided but should be requested during initial consultation. Additional costs may apply.)
Vehicle depollution technicians should hold, or have scheduled, accredited F-Gas qualifications.

  • Mileage will be charged at £0.45/mile from the trainers location (Pricing may differ for training outside of the UK).

  • A hotel and subsistence cost may be charged at £180.00/night / $245/night depending on location.

  • We will require full payment in advance to secure your requested training date.

  • If you can no longer make the arranged training date, we’ll move your course to another date.

  • Health and safety is an integral part of this training and any candidate that does not have the required health and safety equipment or fails to use the health and safety equipment properly on the assessment day will be immediately failed.

  • Sufficient vehicles must be supplied by the candidates business on the day of the final assessment to satisfy all depollution requirements.
